Anyway, back to the matter at hand...

Firstly, nice to see some common sense from all parties (not that there was ever any lacking on SFC's part) with the Halesowen match being put back to Tuesday 31st August. Whatever the gripes of twelve months ago, perhaps we can all now move on...

Secondly, a big pat on the back for the Cricket Club in allowing us to stage the Didcot match at Amblecote. It can't be emphasised enough that this is something they did not have to do. In years gone by the relationship between the two parties has plumbed some significant depths but both sides have worked hard together more recently - the annual bonfire being a case in point. Let's hope there's a good turn-out to reward the Club for its efforts. I'm sure there will be more than there would have been at Bromsgrove, plus we get the bar and refreshment takings to ourselves.

Thirdly, a Sunday match at Bromsgrove. We haven't played too many games on Sundays - only the following spring to my mind since the three-day week in the mid-seventies:

86/87 Abindon United away (FA Cup replay)
91/92 Long Buckby home (FA Cup)
91/92 (I think) Cardiff Civil Service away (Welsh Cup)
97/98 Corby Town home (League - the day after Diana's funeral)

Any more?

With regards to the matches being played at amblecote a big thank you must obviously go to the cricket club for helping us out. And don't forget if any help is needed to get the ground ready for these games, then please let us know in advance and I'm sure help will be available :scarf: Even if some of the supporters are drunk :hmm: :angdev: :wtf:

So what is going on at Bromsgrove that may prevent our playing there after all -and what contingency plan do we have in place?

Ooh, good one. Can't believe I forgot that. Mind you, it's one of life's mysteries that I can recall in great detail things that happened 25 or 30 years ago, and yet I have no idea what I had for tea last night! Old age, I suppose.

Now, let's not be too hasty! There's no good reason why we won't play the Swindon game at Bromsgrove that I know of. As it stands Sporting will be the tenants by then and we have an agreement with them.
